Coming off a big win last week, the Las Vegas Rugby Academy Brumbies looked to be the favorite to win it again. But today's result’s was a different story and a different team. The Las Vegas Rugby Academy Hurricanes had other plans for the outcome of today’s rugby match. Before kickoff the LVRA Brumbies were missing a few key player, most notable was Ethan R. (last weekend’s Man of the Match and top scorer) and Head Coach Allen Dunford. LVRA Brumbies stated the game with no Coach till halftime. The LVRA Hurricanes received the ball on the kickoff and moved the ball wide from end of the rugby pitch to the other. After several phases the Hurricanes found Shane R. open in the right corner. (Hurricanes 5 Brumbies 0) Hurricanes wasted no time to score their 2nd try coming of a long interception by Jon F. to go half the pitch to take a 10-0 lead. LVRA Hurricanes then display some awesome defense holding the LVRA Brumbies from scoring or even getting close to the try line. On a LVRA Brumbies knock-on the Hurricanes spread the ball wide and found Shane R. again to score his 2nd rugby try. Hurricane’s Jon F. was on fire scoring his 2nd try of the game on a Brumbies error. With 10 minutes left the Brumbies finally got on the board with Isaac C. shooting a gap found in the defense and scoring. Just before halftime Bud scored a hat-trick for the Hurricanes. (Halftime score LVRA Brumbies 5 LVRA Hurricanes 25)
Playing without several keys hurt the Brumbies but also without Coach Dunford was even more frustrating for the Brumbies. Stepping to coach the Brumbies was Rob Cornelius and with a little word of encouragement sent the team back on the field. Trying to regroup, LVRA Brumbies Captain Isaac C. led his team in attacking the Hurricanes Defensive line. It paid off as #8 Dallen D. scored to make the score Brumbies 10 Hurricanes 25. But that was the only time the Brumbies scored as the Hurricanes defense became harder to break. The Brumbies had several close opportunity but the Hurricanes defense was just too good today. Hurricanes had tries from Micah T. scoring his 1st try of the year and returning from long vacation Alex. Winning this game was very important for the LVRA Hurricanes as they head into the Championship Game next week. The LVRA Brumbies are on the receiving end and who knows what the outcome will be next week at the Championship Rugby Game. Will the Brumbies jump back and win it all or will the Hurricanes keep their winning streak going?

News
News: "Saturday Results:
LVRA Blues(2-2) shocked 1st place LVRA Chiefs (3-1) beating them 50-35. Blues were trailing early from a Chief counter attack that went the distance and kenny scoring in the corner. Kenny (Chiefs) again scored after some nifty ball movement between the chiefs to take the lead 10-0. Blue's Mike took the matter into his own hands and scored a solo try. After a long period of back and forth attacks the Blue's Job scored to even the score. After a short water break, the teams went at it again and the flood gate opened. LVRA chiefs made several breaks but could not finish due to lack of support. Blues were a little more successful then the chiefs and took the lead at half 30-25. The 2nd half was all LVRA Blues lead by Job and Mike. Chiefs tried several times to get into the tryline but several knock on and lack of support hurt them. Final Score: Blues 50 Chiefs 35 (Summerlin Spartans had a bye)
Under 13/19:
Under the 110 degree and partly cloud, LVRA Hurrricans took on the Brumbies to see whose the better team. Both teams rugby skills increased tremendously and ball movement was smooth. Of course there was your normal knock-on and forward passing but overall both teams played a very fast control and exciting game. The halftime score was 25-25. The final score was 40-40 and each played awesome. The players have a bright future in rugby and hopefully be part of the 2016 USA team in the olympic."
